They have been in and around this business for quite some time.
We decided to do an interview with the person that runs Sabre Studios as we would like to introduce new and existing fans to their offerings, psychology, and their philosophy on doing business.
Without any further adieu, here is the interview!
1. Tell Catfight Report readers about Sabre Studios. How long have you been in business, how did the company start, and tell us about the history of the company.
Sabre Studios: As a female wrestling fan for 35 years, I decided that I wanted to create a company that dedicated itself to high quality pro-style topless fantasy wrestling in a ring setting. In 2000 I met my all time favorite wrestler Quisha Page. We decided to form a company called Survivor Video. I continued to help her with the company which she renamed Amazonian Women. In 2004, I finally got the courage to go out on my own and Sabre Studios was born. I am not a fan of female violence, but I do like the sexy look of a helpless opponent. We try to cater to everyone's likes and try to capture that sexiness that wrestling fans are looking for. We tend to work with busty girls who sometimes are not trained athletes, but we try to work with them and their skills to develop their athletic ability. Many of our wrestlers have been seen performing for other companies and are well known for their screen presence and all around sexiness in the ring. Quisha Page was the main reason why I started this business. She is beautiful a great wrestler and has a great body with the best breasts in the business as far as I am concerned. Sabre Studios was molded after her. I wanted beautiful women with great bodies and big breasts wrestling in the ring pro-style with great action.
2. Who are some of the females that have wrestled for Sabre Studios? Who are some of the major girls you worked with in the past, and who are some of the girls you are going to be working with in the present?
Sabre Studios: Our first video starred Tanya Danielle Vs. Devon Michaels. Devon Michaels had never performed in a professional wrestling ring prior to this match and only had been performing in catfights. Our second match starred the ring tough Franchesca Le vs. the british newcomer Goldie Blair. Both women were excellent at what they do and very convincing and sexy. Our third match was the best ever (and is still my favorite match ever) Quisha Page Vs Sabrina Stone aka Hurricane Havana. This has everything a topless wrestling fan could ever want. Big pro moves body slams, illegal wrestling. Big boobs sexy action and a lead to a great ending. 60 minutes of great action in a three fall match. I can’t say enough about this match or the girls that were in it.. Nothing but spectacular. Some other veterans of the ring have starred in our films such as Charlie Chase, Rachael Love, Vanessa Harding, Summer Cummings, Krystal Summers and a newcomer who have proven them self a worthy opponent Alicia Dimarco. My favorite of all is Quisha Page. She has shot the most videos with us and by far are the best matches Sabre Studios has shot. The moves and holds and acting are the best. I love working with her because she is such a professional and good person. We have future plans on using some new models and help training them so that the action in Sabre videos continues to shine in the wrestling world. We are also working on developing a tournament to belt a champion for the WWZ (Women's Wrestling Zone).
3. Tell Catfight Report readers about the matches themselves. Are the matches real, semi-real, scripted? What exactly should a paying customer expect when they purchase one of your matchups?
Sabre Studios: All of our matches are custom scripted by myself in order to capture the essence of pro-style wrestling with cat fighting tendencies and the sexiness of the girls that are in the match. We try putting in pro moves and holds, including corner punishment, forearms, chokes, illegal moves, breast torture, etc. Customers should expect high quality footage captured by two cameras giving different angles that when edited, they can get the best in viewing pleasure. Some of the girls are more athletic than others, so we try to incorporate the bigger moves like clotheslines, body slams, and flips.
4. Obviously in the marketplace there is what is known loosely as "the pie". The economic pie. What do you feel sets Sabre Studios apart from the other companies in the genre, and why should fans consider investing in your product?
Sabre Studios: We tend to hire bustier opponents and show them how to do the holds and moves as close to the professionals as we can. We use multi camera angles in order to capture the best footage possible so our viewers can enjoy all the sexiness of this great sport. We try to set up scenarios for each match to build up the hype leading into the match. We also use story lines to lead into other matches and keep the anticipation and excitement of two beautiful women finally meeting in the ring to do battle. We edit all our videos to make sure the quality of the wrestling is the best it can possibly be. We don’t just let the cameras roll and let the girls roll around on the ground. Our matches tend to be more believable because we try to make each match a 50/50 split in action between the two girls. Reversals are more believable which tends to lead to a more realistic ending. We do not condone female violence and would never want to see anyone really hurt. This is all fantasy and we try to bring out the sexiness of the beautiful helpless woman. A huge part that sets us apart is our website. We give more content and information than any other website out there. There are pictures, descriptions, video clips, and a list of moves, holds, and actions, that give our customers all the information they will need to make an educated decision about buying any particular video.
5. Here at the Catfight Report we thrive on discovering juicy or interesting tidbits regarding real catfights and tension between the females we love. Are there any good or interesting stories you can share that have happened in the past at Sabre Studios that would get fans more interested in your girls? (Just as one example of many, were there any scripted matches that perhaps turned a little bit more "real" than planned?)
Sabre Studios: None that really got out of hand, but there are always behind the scenes drama. A boob gets punched too hard hear or there or one of the girls has an injury that gets hurt again but for the most part everyone is very careful. Generally our models are very professional and keep it together when they are working. We have a lot of fun at our shoots, It’s more explaining and training than video time. It is generally a very light hearted experience and we focus on safety as a major concern. We want our models coming back and don’t want to hire new girls and give a bad impression of the sport.
6. The key to a successful company is to never settle. It's imperative to always be improving your product offering and to listen to what fans have to say about your product and services. What things at Sabre Studios do you seek to improve, and what improvements have already been put in place, that will interest potential or current fans of your offerings out there?
Sabre Studios: We now have our own studio, so climate and lighting is under control. We have a big bouncy padded ring where more moves and flips can be utilized without the girls getting bruised or injured. We learn with every shoot on what we can do better. And we try to get the best camera angles possible. We are always looking for new talent and we are always going over training with the girls we shoot to make sure all the action is as close to professional as possible. All customers are different. Some like their favorite girls to be in control, and others like to see their favorites in helpless positions.
7. In the opinion of Sabre Studios, what makes for a good female vs female wrestling bout? Do you focus your offerings on the competitive aspect, the looks of the girls, the scenario at hand, the name brand recognition of the girls? Basically, in short, what do you think makes for a compelling match that people will buy and watch for years and years on end? What is the formula in your personal view?
Sabre Studios: Every good movie starts out with a good basic story line. Obviously, the girls have to be beautiful and have voluptuous bodies. Our goal is to show these women in different moves, holds, and positions, to bring out the sexiness of the sport. In my opinion, the best part of a movie is when our women show their beautiful faces with helpless looks and positions with jiggling breasts that are sexily exposed and displayed. Our formula for success is to generally put one girl in the ring with quality wrestling skills and match her up with a bigger breasted girl against her. This way at least our customers get to see a more voluptuous girl in a dominant position against an opponent, and also in a submissive position.

1. April Hunter – She is a great wrestler. She oozes sex appeal and would make for a great opponent.
2. Annie Social – She currently wrestles in pro venues but also has done naked wrestling for another company. She has a great body and great skills in the ring.
3. Venus Delight – She is still a beautiful and sexy woman. And believe it or not is a great wrestler and is as tough as nails to my surprise.
4. Shelly Martinez – a beautiful and gifted athlete. But to my knowledge is not wrestling anymore.
5. Frankie Zappatelli – She is absolutely beautiful, and as strong as they come. She is an all around great wrestler. I cannot wait to incorporate her into the WWZ.
9. It's Johnny Ringo's view that to do well in this industry, you must be a fan of the industry. Please name in your personal opinion, the top a couple websites out there that you visit that is related to this genre, and tell us why you think they are good websites that people should visit and support.
1. Double Trouble Productions – They were always my favorite because of the variety of women that they employed and it's also where I met Quisha Page

We are definitely going to try to use more new talent and mix them with the veterans to keep the fans interested in our products. Different combination's of these women always make the matches more interesting, especially when building story lines, making alliances, and also enemies.

I'm going to readily admit something before I start this article.
I am not an expert on this subject. The sources that I have pulled are not from any history books, or any fantastic historical sources I can readily verify.
My source is Google.
So I would like to get that out of the way before I begin. However, I have always found facesitting in and of itself to be extremely sexy. Why?

My only criticisms of the site is that I heavily dislike the all black background and I do worry about the feature where you can post your own videos, because that could be a source of future problems for CSS Dude.
And, namely and most importantly, because I'm not a supporter of fans out there posting content from producers without their permission.
It seems to me that might be a tough feature to police and I hate to see producers that work their butt off having their content posted without permission.
Other than that, I think this is an excellent venture for CSS Dude, and a fantastic project with a ton of future potential if handled correctly.

People who have tuned into companies like TNA and WWE for years have lamented that there is only one thing wrong with the action. The winner is known before the wrestling even begins. The action might be very physical and may cause a lot of wear and tear on the bodies of the performers, but the outcome is predetermined.
At We Bring It this is not the case!
The action is 100 percent real. No predetermined outcomes unless otherwise labeled.
Meaning, the site contains both Non-topless and Topless pictures and vidcaps. It showcases women in various forms of recreational combat against other women. Regardless of style, all of the matches are “rules” matches -- the women involved in the matches have met ahead of time and agreed on the tactics that will be allowed as well as the tactics that will not be allowed during the match. And all of the matches are “real” – the winner is determined by the women on the mats by submissions or pins.
Here is what is not allowed at We Bring It:
They do not use punches to the face or head, and any strikes with elbows, wrists, knees or forearms. So now that you are familiar with how things work let's dig deeper.

We Bring It conducted an interview with Ariel X a few days ago for this magazine.

I've been given a match to review of her and she really is one of my personal favorites thus far.

This is a match that falls under the "Bring it Bitch" series at We Bring It.
What is that you ask?
Bring it Bitch rules consist of:
There is only one submission in a “Bring It, Bitch!” match, so the rules are slightly different than in a straight submissions match:
#1 – during the first 20-25 minutes of the fight, no submission holds are allowed.
#2 – hairpulling, face and body slapping, body punching are allowed at all times.
#3 – breast and crotch attacks are allowed only if agreed to by both of the women.
#4 – a number of tactics are also not allowed for safety reasons: no single-digit bending, no joint locks, no chicken wings, no intentional scratching, no attacks to the eyes, no fish-hooks, no back-handed face slaps, no kidney or liver punches, no elbow or knee strikes, etc.
During the “no-submission-allowed” portion of the fight, the women are trying to be the dominant woman in control, dealing out the most punishment/humiliation to her opponent.
Once into the “submission” portion, the first submission wins. Some submissions have taken just a few minutes, while others have taken almost 30.
The question I pose about this matchup is the following:
Does size matter?
Arianna stands at 5'7" tall and weighs 135lbs. Jenn on the other hand is 5'1" tall and weighs 124lbs.
Here are the rules:
- Fully competitive catfight for the first 30 minutes
- The first submission in the last 5 minutes wins
- Hairpulling, bodyslapping, body punching, breast attacks, and face slapping allowed
Folks. These are 2 very sexy ladies. As soon as the video starts, there is no time wasted as the action starts right away. Arianna is going over some papers on the table, as Jenn walks through the door and immediately makes a beeline for Arianna.
JENN: What gives you the right to go through this shit?
The two women wrestle while standing as they make their way to the living room where Arianna shoves Jenn roughly to the floor. Jenn quickly bounces back up to her feet as the two women struggle for position and start wrestling on the couch.

Hard slaps are continually exchanged as Arianna is on top of Jenn and trying to pull her clothes off her. Then, Arianna grabs Jenn's shirt, and slowly and surely rips that thing off as you can hear the slow ripping sound nicely on video.
The two women continually struggle for position, and pull each other's hair on the couch, as you can really hear the slaps and punches been fired. Wow!
It's not long at all until both women are nude from the waist up as the action spills to the floor. Even at the 5 minute mark of this matchup, things are already brutal, and neither woman is taking clear control whatsoever.
Around the 8 minute mark, one woman finally begins to assert some control. Jenn. She mounts Arianna with her powerful and sexy lower body and breast smothers Arianna as the trash talk really starts to fly. Keep in mind folks, this is 100 percent real action, and these ladies are now firmly entrenched in the heat of battle at this point and neither woman wants to lose.

Arianna flips Jenn off of her and the punches and slaps really start to fly. It turns out to be a real seesaw battle until one of these women finally takes full control of the other one. At the end of the match, the eventual winner really pours on the trash talk as she tries to get the other woman to admit who the better woman is and to tap out.

1. You must have an insight on the male fetish. You decide to make a cheerleader movie where sexy females are fighting each other. Meow! What were the ideas and circumstances that lead to the production of this movie?
JESSICA SONNEBORN: There are so many movies with cheerleaders as the leads, so I wanted to do something unique. Where I grew up, field hockey is a huge sport. It’s much less known on the west coast. When I wrote the script I thought it would be really alluring to have girls running and fighting each other in their field hockey skirts. Our lead girls are field hockey players and the supporting ones are cheerleaders.
I wrote my character as the outsider who is trying to fit in with the group of mean girls. I’m really athletic and love doing stunt work, so I wanted to write something sexy and thrilling where I could act but also do stunts. That’s what led me to write a story about characters who are kidnapped and forced to fight to the death. I thought it was a pretty good pitch for a movie J.
2. Tell fans a bit about the female fights in the movie. Is the movie more story or do you devote a good amount of time to female vs female combat?
JESSICA SONNEBORN: A main theme of the movie is girl fights, both verbal and physical. We touch upon a “mean girl” aspect of high school, first with verbal nastiness and then with a couple physical spats. This foreshadows what will come when the girls are kidnapped. Our stunt fighting is the third act of the film.
3. I notice you play in the movie as a character as well. So do you script yourself to kick everyone's ass or are you more of a submissive where you enjoy getting your ass kicked? :)
JESSICA SONNEBORN: My character definitely has a temper and is a strong female, but I wouldn’t say she kicks everyone’s ass… just some. J
4. Tell fans about the backdrop and story of the movie. Also, describe some of the characters, and any neat plot twists you can reveal that won't ruin the movie before people see it.
JESSICA SONNEBORN: The movie takes place in anytown, USA… we wanted it to feel as real and familiar as possible. It’s not a gory movie, but what makes it scary is that it could happen. It’s not supernatural; it’s not the killer that never dies… its real people hurting each other.
Our lead characters are a group of beautiful “entitled” high school seniors, who befriend “Kate,” the new girl. We have the queen bee, played by the gorgeous and talented Augie Duke. This girl is tiny, but has a huge personality. Not only is she sexy, but also she’s feisty and cute. Our innocent sweetheart is played by the doe-eyed Paulie Rojas, who is amazingly talented, poised and plays the perfect damsel in distress. Casey Reinhardt plays our hot blonde. The beautiful Casey has perfect comedic timing with her one-liners… and she also kicks some ass. Finally there’s the super sexy Sita Young, who is tough, funny and hot as hell. It’s a great group, rounded out by several sexy cheerleaders, including Chelsea Brummett, who will have many more male fans after our movie comes out, but I can’t say more than that. :)
5. What are your personal thoughts on catfights and female wrestling? Have you run into males or females in your lifetime that enjoy this "fetish"? What are your thoughts on it all?
JESSICA SONNEBORN: I love the idea of a strong woman who can stand up for herself, even if she has to kick butt to do it. Like a lioness, women have the power to be beautiful, elegant, and --lethal.
6. If sales for Lure go well, can we expect a part 2? If so, what are some ideas you have in mind for a sequel?
JESSICA SONNEBORN: Yes! I already started writing it. The sequel would include a lot more hard-core girl fighting and a shoot in a tropical location.
7. Talk a bit about some of the challenges you have faced taking on such a big role. You are a writer, a producer, and a performer in this movie. Can you give us some insight on some of the positives and negatives you faced and some of the things that went on behind the scenes that fans might find interesting?
JESSICA SONNEBORN: Producing, writing and acting in a main part is a lot to take on… the first thing that comes to mind is the cold weather and skimpy outfits. But overall, it was an amazing experience. The cast was great! There were no behind the scene catfights. We saved all of that for on screen!
8. We are going to put you on the spot here like we do all our interview subjects. If you were to face the following female cast members of Lure, in a REAL female vs. female wrestling match, who do you think would emerge as the winner and why?
JESSICA SONNEBORN: First of all… I love the whole cast and would NEVER want to beat up on them… but this is fun, so…
1. Paulie Rojas
JESSICA SONNEBORN: Paulie is a black belt in some sort of martial arts, so even though she is demure and petite, she could kick my ass.
2. Augie Duke
JESSICA SONNEBORN: Augie, the loudest of the group, is about half my size, literally… so she’d be toast.
3. Sita Young
JESSICA SONNEBORN: I think of Sita as a tomboy, like myself. With attitude and confidence like she has, any girl should watch out.
4. Casey Reinhardt
JESSICA SONNEBORN: Casey is the sweetheart of the group… she comes from a really athletic family and she has one of the best fights in our movie. Win or lose, that would be a lot of blonde hair flying!
5. Marieh Delfino
JESSICA SONNEBORN: Marieh and I are almost the same size and I don’t think she has a mean bone in her body… hmmm… I think she and I would laugh too hard and not be able to fight… we’d have a glass of wine together instead.
6. Kristina Page
JESSICA SONNEBORN: Kristina plays Lexy, our freshman cheerleader. She’s tiny, but this girl was an actual cheerleader flyer (the girl that gets thrown in the air during cheer stunts)… so if I threw her around the ring, she’d keep coming back for more. She’d probably wear me down a bit… but then again, I’m a pretty tough chick, so I think I’d take her.
9. What is the release date for Lure and where are all the places fans can purchase it?

In the modern day of Double Trouble Wrestling, these are without a doubt two of their most popular performers. And one look at the smoking bodies these two females exhibit and there is no doubt as to why video sales jump when they get on the screen.
The match starts out by showing both women in their corners who are both completely top nude. JC bounces around the corner and poses her biceps as she says she is "ready" and both women make their way to the center of the ring.
Both women lock up into a very short test of strength until Akira takes the advantage and tosses JC down to the mat. Akira grabs one arm, and one leg, of JC's as she sticks both of her feet into JC's ribs and pulls back while laying on the mat.
JC's perfect body is on display as Akira ramps up the pressure. JC gets out of the hold by twisting Akira's big toe, and then goes to work on her feet as she twists Akira's toe as the busty asian screams in wild pain.
The action goes back and forth until the two women engage in a breast battle in the corner as they both press their amazing breasts into one another's chest.

Both ladies are standing in their corners as the match starts off. Carolyn shouts "So Carolyn, you ready for a rematch" of which Emily replies "Yea, I've been ready, come on!"
The match starts off with both ladies locking their hands in a test of strength as they both then go down to their knees while still locked. Caroyln seems to be the stronger of the two, as she pushes Emily on her back. Emily is having none of this as she puts her foot in Emily's chest and pushes her off.
Emily mounts Carolyn, and seems to be in control, but Carolyn bucks her off, mounts Emily in a schoolgirl, and then starts mauling her (still covered) breasts. Emily returns the favor, undoes Carolyn's top, and starts choking her with it in the center of the ring.
Carolyn is not having this, as she powers her way to her feet, removes Emily's top, and then starts choking it around her mouth as she pushes Emily against the ropes while her perfect breasts perk upwards as the camera catches all of it.
Both women are now top nude as the action goes back and forth a bit. Just before the 3 minute mark, Emily traps Carolyn in a body scissors in the middle of the ring.
Emily is in control for a very short while, until Carolyn returns the favor and puts on a body scissors of her own as she twists Emily's nipples in the process.
The action seesaws back and forth, but here are some of the interesting holds and moments of the match.
- Emily drapes both of Carolyn's arms over the top rope and holds them with one arm as she spanks Carolyn's ass with her free hand and then gives her a big wedgie.
- Carolyn sits on the small of Emily's back, secures both of her arms with her strong legs, pulls both of her legs backwards, and then wedgies her at the same time.
- With Carolyn mounting Emily, both females get into a brief nipple twisting
battle.
- Emily mounts Carolyn and shouts out "Breast Smother!" as she grinds her big nipples and breasts into Carolyn's face.
This is a rematch, and Emily won the first encounter.

The Anatomy of a Punch by: Warren Griffin
Connect with him - HERE What can I say? I like a good punch! This was going to become obvious anyway over the course of my reviews for anyone who pays attention, so I might as well address it head-on. There is a vibrant sub-culture within the fem-fight realm devoted to the thrill of the punch. I'm sure there is a face punching following out there, but I am most familiar with the body punching contingent. Endless message board discussions and private chats have been spent trying to understand this preternatural fascination with raw pugilism. And frankly, after all these years, I have yet to hear a satisfactory explanation.
Either it's your cup of tea, or it ain't.
And even among punching fans, there are myriad specific spins on the topic. So I won't pretend to speak for the genre as a whole, and I won't belabor the unanswerable (or perhaps it would be more accurate to say, the endlessly answerable) questions of "why?"
But what I aim to do here is to provide some personal perspectives, and also to provide some practical observations that might be helpful to performers who are requested to tackle this fem-fight special interest in a custom video. Throwing a good punch is not necessarily a natural skill, but I think most performers could improve their game with just a few simple tips.
To make this stroll down punching lane more interesting, I will organize my article around a particular performer who stands out (to me) in this area: The ever-young Francesca Le!!
I first discovered Francesca pounding her way through the competition in a series of specialty slugging matches for Double Trouble Productions back in the 1990s. I was immediately smitten with this lovely Latina's fiercely effective punching style and was thrilled that DT continued to cast her in punching roles, of which there weren't many out there at the time. Indeed, Double Trouble was one of the very first producers to bring specialized punching matches into their portfolio, and they've never abandoned the genre. Along the way, Double Trouble has produced some of the greatest slugfests of all time, and many of DT's superlative punching performances have starred Francesca.
One of the first DT matches I ever saw that showcased Fran's natural punching talent was an apartment-style bout with a nifty burglary storyline. Fran sneaks into a house occupied by roommates Sandy and Lisa Marie and is looking for something to steal, but Fran is discovered by each roommate one at time. When confronted, Fran jumps each roommate with such sudden ferocity that Sandy and Lisa Marie never stand a chance, and Fran destroys each one with almost exclusive belly punches. The reactions of the victims are admirable, but what sells the show is the credible power (I will come back to this phrase) that Fran conveys as she savagely slams her fist into the dazed roommates' unprotected midsections over and over.
For completeness, I should say that the roommates eventually turn the tables on Fran when they finally manage to double-team her, and Fran turns out to be an outstanding punch jobber as well. But DT already had several skilled punch-takers at the time, such as the great Mia Walters, but what set Fran far apart was her magnificence at dishing out the bodily damage.

Realizing that they had discovered a punching megastar, DT quickly followed up the burglary video with a whole series of ring matches designed as a tournament to crown a bare-fisted slugging champion. This gave Fran an opportunity to showcase her punching skills as she fought her way to the top with demolition after demolition of her opponents' brutally tenderized guts.
Perhaps my favorite DT bout from this golden age of punching is a wild ensemble video appropriately titled "Tournament of Beauty and Destruction," in which six (count 'em, SIX!) of DT's finest wage non-stop body-bruising war on each other in a series of shifting alliances over 3 intertwined matches. Below is a little montage of some of the greatest hits from this classic slugging tournament, for which I won't spoil the ending [Clips from DT 368]

Since first sinking her fists into opponents' guts for DT, Fran has gone on to slug her way through 2 decades of fem-fight videos with a wide range of producers. Recently, Fran starred opposite the bodacious Tanya Danielle in a whole series of punching-themed videos in which Fran played various aggressor characters and Tanya served repeatedly (and exquisitely!) as the ultimate punching bag for absorbing Fran's vicious and unrelenting knuckle-bombs.
In a recurring role over several videos with Tanya, Fran played an iconic villainess named Dr. Freudenia, who preys on troubled do-gooders by masquerading as a psychotherapist for superheroines. But instead of helping her clients to solve their problems, Dr. Freudenia administers "therapeutic beatings" to the hapless heroines, or otherwise uses her position of influence to get them to accept, shall we say, "unorthodox" treatment programs that somehow always involve fists meeting flesh. In some cases, the heroine is actually induced to pummel herself as part of her therapy.
The heroine in each of the videos in the Dr. Freudenia series is a Supergirl-esque crimefighter named Terra Danyell (played, shockingly, by Tanya Danielle! lol) who has a troublesome attraction to the experience of having her formidable physique pounded by her adversaries.
This problem is of course right up Dr. Freudenia's alley! The good doctor dispenses some of the best gut busting and bosom battering performances of Francesca's long pugilist career as she devastates Terra Danyell's sculpted super-bod with a wrecking-ball fist. Now that I've mounted the evidence that Francesca Le is, and long has been, the consummate puncher, I want to break down why she's so good. And this will double as a quick tutorial for any fem-fight models who want to know how to excel in punching roles that might come your way.
It all comes back to the concept I introduced above: Credible power!
What does that mean?
Well, for starters, we must address an elephant in the room--ALL the punching is fake. There are a few producers who go to great lengths to market their slugging vids as "real" punching action, but this is essentially never truly the case (it's a longer conversation to explain why I don't accept these producers' claims). But the vast, vast majority of producers don't even bother trying to claim the punching is real, and everyone accepts that the punches are ultimately pulled. It's fantasy, not reality.
BUT ... just because we all know the punching is fake doesn't mean we want the punches to LOOK FAKE!!
(Hear this, fem-fight producers and models!)
What distinguishes superlative from sub-par punching performances is how skilled the models are at maintaining the illusion of truly powerful body blows. (As a side note, a lot of the illusion also rests on the performance of the model on the receiving end of the punch, and there is an art to taking a punch too. But obviously the illusion all starts with the puncher, which is my focus here.)
So how do you throw a fake punch with credible power? One that looks damaging but isn't? With the caveat that these things ultimately are in the eye of the beholder, I would submit the following principles that I think fairly generally apply:
DOs
1. Learn to use a power stance! It may seem odd to start a description of punching technique with a rule about how to position your legs, but it turns out that leg position really matters to the illusion of power in a punch. Set your legs apart in stance like you would use to push something heavy across the floor.
A real punch thrown with real power at a heavy object like an opponent's body would actually knock the puncher backward if they didn't brace their own legs to get ready to absorb the backward momentum that results from striking a solid object. Not to get all high-school physics on you, but seriously, Newton wasn't lying--every action has and equal and opposite reaction, and if you stand flatfooted in front of a wall and give that wall a swift, hard shove, you'll find yourself falling backwards in a hurry.
It's the same with swiftly shoving your fist into an opponent's body (especially if they're trapped in a ring corner or against a wall and can't move backward themselves)--if you really put a lot of force into the punch, you'll actually knock yourself backward if you don't have a solid stance. By the same token, even if you're actually pulling the punch so that you're not striking the opponent very hard in the end, you still need to position your legs appropriately if you want it to LOOK like the punch had power.
Go back at the video clips above of Francesca throwing punches, and notice how her legs are usually spread apart, with one foot back and to the side--this is a classic power stance that lowers the puncher's center of gravity and allows her to brace for the shift in momentum that would actually happen when a real punch hits its target.
So just remember:
Weak stance = weak-looking punch.
Power stance = powerful-looking punch.
2. Focus on follow-through, and let the fist push into the surface! This is perhaps where the real art comes in, and getting this right might take some practice and some coordination with your opponent so that everyone is on the same page about what's happening. But the point here is that a truly powerful punch doesn't aim for the surface of the target, it aims for a point in space behind the surface. So a real punch wouldn't stop when the fist has just barely made skin-skin contact at the surface of the opponent's body. Instead, a real punch would plunge into the the opponent's body until all the forward momentum of the punch was expended against the resistance of opponent's inner flesh. Therefore, a punch that stops instantly right at the surface of the opponent's skin and immediately starts pulling back doesn't give the illusion of transferring any momentum at all to the target--in short, it looks weak. But even if the punch is pulled, it will LOOK like the punch had real power if the fist is still allowed to push slightly into the opponent's body after making contact with the surface. It might only be a half-inch or an inch of follow-through after making contact with the surface, but ANY follow-through looks more credibly powerful than NO follow-through at all. So push the fist in even just a little after making contact with the surface, and your punches will immediately look so much more realistic.
Here are a few slowed down punches with close-ups of the site of impact to show what it looks like when a punch goes beyond the surface and actually sinks in a little. These punches are fake, but notice how much more realistic it appears when the belly actually has to absorb the fist a little, which often produces a nice rippling effect as the belly flesh responds to the deep impact. DON'Ts
1. Absolutely no AIR PUNCHES! Even if you don't understand what I mean about follow-through and about letting the fist sink into the opponent's body after impact, everyone should be able to understand that not even touching the opponent's body at all with your punch and instead just striking the air looks ridiculous! Face punches are one thing--it's virtually impossible to make actual contact and not risk hurting someone, so clever camera angles are used to try to mask the fact that the punches are all total air balls. But for body punches, there is no excuse for not even touching the surface. No fancy camera work should ever be needed, because every punch should actually land at least superficially, and ideally with some follow-through to boot.
2. Don't sacrifice quality for quantity! I have seen so many videos where the performers (or maybe it's the producers) seem to think that all that matters is that they throw a gazillion punches, and they will have made a great slugging match. But I think most true punching fans would take 10 really good-lucking, well-acted punches over 100 sloppy jabs or silly-looking flurries of fists that clearly wouldn't hurt a kitten. Take your time and focus on making each punch count as an effective illusion with credible power, or the video will just be one big missed opportunity, no matter how many punches you technically threw. Rewatch Francesca in action, and you'll notice that she never gets going so fast that she starts wasting punches. She is energetic, yet patient and controlled in her delivery. Every hit is a solid effort.
These are just a few tips, but I think they could, if implemented, go a long way toward improving the products of many fem-fight vendors. Whether it's a whole match dedicated to punching, or a more diverse bout that just has punching tossed in as one of many elements, it's always worth making the punches credible and effective if you're going to do them at all.
And so ends my two cents on the ins and outs of punching in the world of fem-fight fantasy. Just want to give a last "Bravo!" to my case-study in punching perfection, the slugging queen, Francesca Le!! Keep on rockin girl!

Shannon Kelly dominates. She dominates Frankie in just about every conceivable female wrestling move that is humiliating you can think of. In Shannon's one and only match at the Academy she stole the show.
At the end she proclaims:
SHANNON: Looks like I won. Now I can do whatever I want with you!
And, Shannon does just that.
But to see what Shannon did to Frankie, well, you are going to have to buy the video!
